- Realized cost savings of $1,000,000 per year through changes in FedEx systems, presorting flats, and changes in process for sending priority mail.
- Established an Improvement Program for Sheffield Steel, which resulted in increasing productivity 18.4% and yield 3.2%.
- During peak time, managed the operations to improve on-time mailing of 9” x 12” packages. For the first time ever, all of these packages mailed on-time.
- Managed the project that automated the assurance of using correct base stock when printing financial statements. This project also eliminated the possibility of printing duplicate pages, or failing to print a page. The project also eliminated printing on the wrong side of the base stock, and printing “upside down” on the preprinted base stock. Working in partnership with Xerox, this project won a national award from the American Society for Quality.
- Managed the project that automated the assurance that the correct mailing envelope was being used for the job, as well as assuring there was only one statement in an envelope. The project also eliminated mailing an empty envelope. These goals were accomplished while working in partnership with Bell & Howell.
- Analyzed the product mix at Sheffield Steel, and determined a change in the product mix increased profitability.
- Led first Lean Manufacturing project at DSTO.
- Led first SMED Manufacturing project at Armco Steel.
- Critiqued current working environment and provided recommendations at Armco Steel, Sheffield Steel, and DSTO.
- Provided a multitude of Project Management services ranging from small “just do it” projects to a $50,000,000 revamp of a major rolling mill. Many projects required working closely with vendors (both domestic and foreign) on the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
- Analyzed available equipment and technology to meet manufacturing demands at Armco Steel, Sheffield Steel, and DSTO. Awarded a patent from the United States Patent Office.
